Today I was walking through the warehouse and it dawned on me that it would be a good idea to share with you all our behind the scenes process. Being that we are still a new business, we are learning and having so much fun doing it!
It all starts after the furniture is ordered! Our contact in Copenhagen packs them all into a container and the journey begins! I start by creating an inventory sheet and setting prices by doing research to pick an appropriate price.
Once the furniture arrives, the IBD team spends a day unloading the container, cleaning the furniture and tagging it. It is a funny process trying to piece together the furniture and find its “spot” in the space – some of the items are very heavy!
Up next, we photograph all of the furniture to get it online and take measurements! When I started the process, I did not know too much about photography and am still learning about the appropriate angles. This is probably my favorite step because I get to pay attention to the detail in all of our items.
We are having so much fun with the business and I hope that you were able to see it when you look at our website and items. I am so blessed to have supportive friends and family as I figure all of this out. This really is my passion and I am so excited to give it my best! Everyone should aim for the stars and chase their dreams – no matter what they are!
